Hawzah News Agency- Hujjat al-Islam Abdul Hussain Khosropanah made some remarks in the conference honoring and explaining the character of Hazrat Zayd bin Ali (PBUH) on Tuesday, August 23, on the anniversary of his martyrdom which was held in the presence of Iranian and Yemeni scholars and thinkers in the hall of Lady Khadijah in the library of Lady Masuma Holy Shrine; he said: Zayd ibn Ali ibn Al Hussein is considered a special character.”

He continued,” Zayd bin Ali is the son of Imam Sajjad (PBUH) from a mother who was a maid given to him by Mukhtar, and Imam al-Baqir (PBUH) said in a narration, O Zayd! Your mother is a noble person; therefore his mother's personality has also been glorified in this way.”

Referring to the knowledge, courage, honesty and spirituality of Zayd bin Ali, Hujjat al-Islam Khosropanah said,” The philosophy of Zayd's uprising against Hisham ibn Abdul Malik was to revenge the blood of the martyrs of Karbala and to promote enjoining the good and forbidding evil. We Shia Muslims believe that Zayd's uprising was authorized by Imam al-Sadiq (PBUH). Therefore, Zayd is a martyr in the way of God, and there is no doubt about the status of this person.”

Hujjat al-Islam Khosropanah went on to point out the numerous narrations that have been stated in relation to Zayd ibn Ali and confirming the character and uprising of Zayd and added,” The sum of the hadiths shows that Zayd ibn Ali was one of the scholars and jurists whose jihad was in the way of God and he was martyred in the way of God.”

Stating that Yemen has played an effective role in the civilization of the Islamic world, the Shia scholar said,” Even today, if anyone wants to see the true meaning of Jihad, they can see it in Yemen, which is standing against the enemies and we hope that this Jihad will be victorious in the end.”
